Artist Statement
My artistic practice is rooted in documentary photography and visual anthropology. It focuses on the way we inscribe and read meaning into the landscape, and how we encounter our environment. I use photography, walking, mapping and ethnographic data to get insight in the sites I study. I'm interested in ecological and urban practices, which I see on a spectrum, not in a dichotomy to each other.

I hold a BA in Documentary Photography from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague (2015) and have recently obtained my MA in Visual and Media Anthropology at Freie Universität Berlin (2021).
